Network Technician
  • Growing IT consulting firm, looking for a customer oriented, and motivated person to provide network implementation and support services to our client base.
  • The focus of responsibilities will be on Microsoft Windows Servers, Microsoft Exchange Servers, routers, switches and network devices, while including workstation support as needed.
  • The position includes on average 60% travel in and around the Greater Baton Rouge area.
  • Candidate must have own reliable transportation.
  • Ideal candidate will have no less than 5 years’ experience, 2 of which should be working with relevant technologies for this position.
  • Be prepared to discuss projects you lead/solutions you have provided and other relevant experiences. Candidates with Microsoft Certifications are preferred.
Responsibilities include
  • New server and network deployments.
  • Work with team members to install, and deploy entire small business networks.
  • Respond to inbound client requests via email, phone, remote access or on site visits to resolve issues including: Server outages, data recovery, network outages, and general IT repair.
  • Work with consultants to ensure customers make informed IT decisions.
  • Assist team members and contribute to the overall productivity of the business.
Skill Requirements:
  • Outstanding customer service!!
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead a project to a successful conclusion within budgeted hours.
  • Proficient in Active Directory/Exchange migrations and server replacement.
  • Advanced skillsets in installing and troubleshooting Active Directory replication and Exchange server configuration.
  • Knowledge of Windows client and server operating systems in a domain environment.
  • HP and Dell server hardware experience.
  • Backup methodologies, hardware, and practices. Backup Exec experience preferred.
  • Must understand basic TCP/IP routing concepts for SMB networks with 1-10 subnets.
  • Must have advanced knowledge in at least one brand of router (Cisco, Fortinet, Watchguard, Sonicwall, etc…)
Certification & Educational Requirements: -
  • High School Diploma. - Associates, Technical College, or Bachelor’s degree.
  • CTS/MSCA/MCITP in any Windows Server technology or product.
  • This is a full time salaried position. Normal hours are Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm, but projects may go over from time to time.
